After the rumors first swirled on Venturebeat today, there has been a lot of conjecture over the future of Titan, the much vaunted and rabidly anticipated MMO in development at Blizzard.
With reports that the project has undergone extensive changes in its design and implementation which could delay it to at least 2016, ZAM reached out to Blizzard and asked for comment.
Blizzard responded as follows:
“We’ve always had a highly iterative development process, and the unannounced MMO is no exception. We’ve come to a point where we need to make some large design and technology changes to the game. We’re using this opportunity to shift some of our resources to assist with other projects while the core team adapts our technology and tools to accommodate these new changes. Note that we haven’t announced any dates for the MMO.”
So with no announced date it’s not accurate to say the project has been pushed back, nevertheless this would seem to indicate fans might be waiting a while longer for large revelations on the details of the project. For those expecting a lot of information at Blizzcon, this seems unlikely with this news.
