The long awaited first teaser has finally dropped for Star Wars: Episode 8 The Last Jedi. Already millions of fans of the beloved series are dissecting every second for clues to what could possibly await in the next installment.
We didn’t have to wait very long for Luke Skywalker’s first bit of dialogue in 34 years. As the trailer opens Rey, seemingly where we left her, hears Luke’s voice advising her to “breathe….just, breathe…”.
The other minute and a half of footage we get is of various imagery and audio clues that is sure to delight any Star Wars fan. I still have goosebumps from watching it this yesterday and don’t want to spoil too much for you so go ahead and watch it below…don’t worry I’ll wait.
“It’s time for the Jedi to end…”
That phrase is going to haunt me until my butt is firmly planted in a seat opening night. Are we seeing the end of the Jedi Order as a whole? The title paired with this line just foreshadows what could end up being a darker installment than its predecessor.
We see the return of some familiar faces, Rey, Luke, Poe, everyone’s favorite gyroscopic droid BB-8. Of course we can’t forget Finn who looks like he’s in what appears to be a Bacta Tank or some sort of Stormtrooper reconditioning machine.
Of course we have our unforgettable rogue gallery returning Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma and the rest of The First Order. Supreme Leader Snoke didn’t actually appear in the trailer but it is assumed he will be playing a crucial part.
As a good trailer should it left me with so many questions. I’m sure many more will arise until the next trailer is dropped at which point thousands more will build excitement for the films December release. Will we get a peek into Rey’s back story?
